About NEXUS Membership

NEXUS is recognised as the leading global network of Next Gen and emerging philanthropists, wealth inheritors, impact investors and exceptional young social innovators. 

NEXUS is an intentionally curated membership with over 6,000 members in 70 countries around the world working to increase and improve philanthropy and social change. We connect, inspire and activate members to catalyse leadership, build innovative solutions, and to accelerate action on the world’s greatest challenges. 

NEXUS members personify a spirit of generosity, collaboration and authenticity. We select members who embody these values. We believe in the power of asking: What’s your passion and how can I help?

NEXUS MEMBERSHIP - General

General NEXUS members enjoy a range of exclusive privileges, including access to the NEXUS online community through the WhatsApp group, monthly e‑newsletters with the latest industry insights, invitations to member‑only salons and events, and opportunities to join NEXUS Global Delegations.

Eligibility requirements:

You are suitable for NEXUS membership if you are 18-45 years of age and in one of the following categories:

  • A Next Gen or emerging philanthropist and/or impact investor with either inherited or self-made wealth.

  • Currently using (or interested in learning about) capital (financial and otherwise) to pursue positive social and environmental change.

  • An exceptional emerging social entrepreneur, social change leader, and/or founder of a grassroots organisation.

  • Corporate funder/investor actively involved in capital allocation. 

  • Philanthropic advisor. 

  • Young leader in public service.   

NEXUS Australia aims to maintain a ratio of: 50% wealth holders including next gen philanthropists, inheritors and impact investors; 30% social change makers; 15% corporate funders/investors in social change and philanthropic advisors; and 5% young leaders in public service.

How to become a member:

To become a general NEXUS member, you need to apply for and be accepted to attend one of our 2.5 day NEXUS Australia Summits (held biennially) or NEXUS Global Summits (held annually). If you are accepted to attend one of our Summits, you remain a NEXUS member after that Summit event for 3 years. 

Selection is at the discretion of the NEXUS Organising Committee, subject to an application screening process and minimum member ratios being met.  

Becoming a NEXUS General Member is free of charge.

NEXUS MEMBERSHIP - THE IMPACT SOCIETY

The NEXUS Impact Society is a small trust-based collective of funder members including Next Gen and emerging philanthropists, wealth inheritors, wealth distributors, impact investors and allies uniquely positioned to change the world together.

NEXUS Impact Society is a premium membership, offering curated benefits that support members in advancing their personal impact journeys.

How to become a member:

The NEXUS Impact Society is a funder-only tier and is by application or invitation only.

To ensure each member of NEXUS Impact Society has an exceptional and customised experience with high impact peer-to-peer connection and learning, only 20 candidates will be accepted into each carefully curated cohort.  Our two inaugural Australia cohorts will launch 1 April 2026. Limited places are available. 

This is a fee-paying membership. Memberships start from $1,700 per annum + GST, in addition to an initial joining fee of $500.

Member FAQs

  • An investment in young people is an investment in the future. We help young people conceptualise the meaning of "good citizenship" and how they, consequently, engage in society as business leaders, donors, social entrepreneurs, activists and participants in the electoral process.

    We believe that by influencing young people we influence the next generation of leaders and therefore eventually influence all of society.

    The NEXUS member demographic is 18 - 45.

  • NEXUS is an intentionally curated membership.

    As a general rule, we do not accept the following into NEXUS membership:

    • Staff members of large, well established not-for-profits earning $10M and over

    • Fundraising professionals

    • Philanthropists and impact investors over 45 years old

    • Social entrepreneurs and change makers over 45 years old

    We work alongside our NEXUS host partner, Philanthropy Australia, and our other sector partners to ensure that there is a place for everyone who wants to pursue a journey of giving and social impact.

  • We believe money and influence are tools that can be used for good, and we want to help the next generation members of high-net-worth families, and emerging generation of high-net-worth young people to understand their unique potential to use these tools to make a positive impact in the world.
