This year’s theme: Integrity and Disruption

The theme for the 2022 Summit was Integrity and Disruption: What is the change the world needs from us?

This year’s theme ‘Integrity and Disruption’ was designed to draw out and make sense of the challenging choices emerging leaders in philanthropy, impact investing and social change face in the ‘new normal’ that is 2022. In an increasingly polarised and fast-paced world, how do we know when we should be seeking new and disruptive avenues for creating positive change, or doubling down and persisting with methods that we know have been integral in the past?

Delegates were challenged to think deeply into not just what change they want to achieve as individuals and collectively, but also how best to achieve it.

Venue: Carriageworks

The NEXUS 2022 Australia Summit was held at Carriageworks in Sydney. Carriageworks is the largest multi-arts precinct in Australia. It supports artists and producers to develop and present major new works in performance, visual arts and related art-forms. Reflecting the diverse communities of urban Sydney, Carriageworks’ artist-led program is ambitious, radical and always inclusive.

Speakers and Program

The NEXUS 2022 Australia Summit program featured some of the most prominent international and Australian experts leading social change, public policy, philanthropy and impact investment. We heard from leaders with lived expertise across a broad range of issues including climate change, First Nations justice, mental health, refugee rights, economic inequality and more.

The Summit program included two and a half days of compelling plenaries, networking, and action-oriented workshops that will cut through the buzzwords, sort the passing fads from emerging best practice, and connect you to your new peers in the social change. We developed the program to deeply explore the opportunities, challenges, insights and innovations to reshape the way we can lead positive change now and into the future.
